Day Two- Message Style

Day Two's theme was "God hears Jonah". We looked at Jonah 2, which is Jonah's prayer while in the belly of the fish.

One of the big points that stood out during worship was that there was grace for Ninevah AND Jonah. God was sending Jonah to Ninevah, a wicked people, to give them a chance to repent. But Jonah hated them. He did not want God to forgive them, so he went the opposite direction. In chapter one Jonah tells the guys on the ship that he is a Hebrew who fears the Lord. But he is simply paying lip service. But in chapter two, we see Jonah repent while in the belly of the fish. Maybe the fish wasn't punishment, but a saving grace from God. Otherwise Jonah would have drowned. God was working in the midst of Jonah's trial.

"I am Jonah"... God showed up for Jonah when he needed him the most and deserved him the least. And isn't that true for us too.

But praise God that "when we are faithless He remains faithful, for He cannot disown himself." (2 Timothy 2:13)
